Robert Williams

Skills Coach

Robert was a dynamic basketball player for DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville Maryland under Coach Morgan Wooten. While at DeMatha Robert was named ALL-Met and selected to play in the McDonalds Capital Classic game. After graduating from DeMatha, Robert matriculated to Oregon State University where he lettered 2 years alongside former teammate and NBA player Brent Barry. Post College Robert played professional basketball in countries such as France and Venezuela.

Coach Williams currently and actively volunteers time to the Giving Back Foundation where he mentors, instructs and counsels community youth both in the importance of education and basketball. Rob Williams also participates in recreational and charity basketball tournaments such as NIKE Pro AM tournament and WKYS 93.9’s fundraiser for Psarcodosis with Fox 5 News’ own Wisdom Martin.

As a dedicated professional Coach Rob Williams hopes to be a valuable influence to youths who love the sport of basketball and their academic success.

Khalid Shakur

Skills Coach

Khalid earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Saint Augustine’s college located in Raleigh, NC and he also holds a degree in Physical Education from Howard University.

Khalid is a former Montgomery Blair High School football and basketball player under Coach David Scaggs. During the two seasons he played for the Blazer’s, his team held an impressive 39-5 record. During his senior year he earned all-conference honors, 3rd team All-Met Honors and was selected to play in McDonald’s Preliminary game. While at Saint Augustine’s, he was a key member of the 1997-1998 team that won the CIAA championship and the 1998-1999 conference title.

After his playing days, Khalid has built a career coaching as the head junior varsity basketball coach at his alma mater Montgomery Blair, Dunbar Senior HS in Washington, DC and is currently an assistant varsity coach at F.W. Ballou. He also officiates scholastic bask
